Ministry of environment collaborate with kwara State Police command

Kwara State Ministry of Environment and the state Police Command, have vowed to work in tandem in a bid to ensure a clean and tidy society.

This came to fore during a familiarization visit by the ministry led by Commissioner, Banigbe Remilekun Oluwatobi to the state Police Headquarter.

Banigbe said the importance of the police in any society can never be overemphasized, hence the need to collaborate with the police and form a formidable team to make people comply with environmental guidelines.

"The presence of police will instill discipline in the people, we require your support to ensure that people comply with the usage of the Roro Bin and also clean up their sorroundings on a regular basis.

"We want total compliance from residents through out the state on environmental sanitation days and even in our day to day activities, we want people to tidy up their soroundings, dispose their wastes properly and not on road medians. All these can be achieved by the support of the police.

"The Governor of the state, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has done a lot to make the state free from dirt and we need the effort of the police to make this aim come to actualization" Banigbe said.

In his response, the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Lawal Bagega, said
environment is very important in the live of humanity, noting that there should be team with the ministry to put things in order.

The CP said the police are part of the government and are ready to work hand in hand with the ministry for optimum performance.

He said environmental issue cut across the 16 local governments of the state and will ensure everyone round the state, cooperate with environmental law.
