World Environment Day: Kwarans urged to imbibe Cleanliness

Kwarans have once again been tasked to ensure that the State achieves a clean and green look as cleanliness creates no room for sickness.

This was made known by the General Manager of the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency,(KWEPA) , Alhaji Saad Ayuba Dan-Musa during the commemoration of the 2021 World Environment Day held at the Emir's Palace, Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital with the theme, "Ecosystem Restoration " and the local theme, "Re-imagine, Re-create and Restore the Kwara Environment."

In his words, "The Earth is the present home for our children and we must keep it clean and safe always. When we fail to clean and maintain our environment, we open the door for sickness to creep in. It sucks up the little resources we are managing and if care is not taken, it can lead to sudden death.

"In order to avoid this,  we must attach more importance to our surroundings by ensuring that we take care of it properly and together, we can achieve a healthy and prosperous society."

Earlier in his speech, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazak , represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Maman Saba Jibril, called for an end to all forms of noise, water and air pollution while calling for a healthy and cleaner Kwara.
