KWEPA Pays Familiarization Visit to Kwara Poly

The Management of the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) paid a familiarization visit to the office of the Rector of the Kwara State Polytechnic (Kwara Poly), as part of its efforts in ensuring a working relationship between the Agency and higher institutions in the State. 

In his opening remarks, the General Manager of the Agency, Alhaji Saad Ayuba Dan-Musa,  appreciated the Management for granting them audience while also assuring that the visit will further strengthen their relationship.

Further speaking, Dan-Musa stated that the Agency is saddled with the responsibility of protecting the people from environmental nuisance and helping in preventing diseases that could emanate from dirty environments and  premises, adding that the Agency is proactive in its social work. 

Explaining some of the functions of the Agency, he highlighted that the Agency is concerned with proper Waste disposal, Fumigation, Ecology and Occupational Health, Food and Hotels, among others. 

In his response, the Rector of Kwara Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed, expressed his gratitude to the Agency, while also saying the visit was important as it had further served as a means of enlightening and educating them more about the functions of the Agency and also an eye opener to sit up in areas where environmental laws are being disobeyed.  He said the school will liaise with the Agency and cooperate with all its assignments. 

On her part, the Environmental Health Officer of the school, Mrs. Adedayo Oyewole, thanked the Agency for visiting the school, while assuring them of their cooperation and promising to work on issues earlier raised. 

In the vote of thanks, the Director of Works, Physical Planning and Projects of the School, Engr. Mustapha Na-Allah, appreciated the Agency and pledged their readiness to cooperate with the Agency.
