The Kwara State Government has intensified its war against road encroachment and environmental violations by market men and women in Ilorin as the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) task force storms Ipata Market as a pilot scheme to ensure compliance.
KWEPA's Taskforce team on Encroachment went to Ipata market recently in continuation of its fight against road encroachment and other environmental violations.
The team which was led by the General Manager of the agency, Alhaji Sa'ad Ayuba Dan-Musa rid the entire Ipata market of dirt and goods encroaching the roadsides, thereby making movement in and outside the market easy.
While speaking to the market women, the General Manager informed them that the State government would help them fix the road and make the market conducive for their use.
He further encouraged them to stop displaying their goods by the roadside to avoid accidents.
He reiterated that no one is permitted to display their goods after the borders of the drainage system and anyone found wanting would henceforth be made to face the full wrath of the law.
