KWEPA Charges waste consultants

KWEPA Charges Waste Consultants to be Diligent Ahead of 2022 Operations

The Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA), has charged waste consultants operating within the state to be diligent and committed to their work in 2022.

The General Manager of the Agency, Alhaji Sa'ad Ayuba Dan-Musa during a meeting held with the consultants at the Agency on Wednesday advised the waste consultants to take their assignments seriously by evacuating refuse on time.

He stated that any consultant reported for failure to evacuate refuse when due will be disengaged and replaced outrightly.

Speaking further, Alhaji Dan-Musa, encouraged the waste consultants not to focus only on the people who live in the outermost parts of the state but also to consider the residents  of the interior parts as they are more likely to litter the road median with refuse.

He warned the consultants to desist from encroaching on areas not within their assigned jurisdiction, warning that anyone found guilty would be sanctioned appropriately.

He then assured the consultants of the state government's continual support in the coming year.

The Controller Finance and Account of the Agency, Mr Mohammad Baba Ibrahim in his own submission charged the consultants to play their part in the fight against dumping of refuse on road median.

He implored the state government to create a task force which will monitor and prosecute anyone caught dropping refuse on the road median.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Kwara Waste Managers Association, Mr Kayode Adewuyi commended and appreciated the support of the Agency and the government in the just concluded year. He assured the Agency of their utmost cooperation in year 2022.

Adejoke Adekunle,
Press Secretary,
