*ENVIRONMENTAL UPDATE: The menace cause by Street beggars*

By Saad Danmusa

Many contemporary states in the country has made frantic efforts  ensuring that street Beggars are evacuated from their major streets.

Kwara state government would not be the last to evacuate them completely from the major roads like Geri-Alimi Underpass and some notable places in the state Capital which is continuously causing Environmental Nuisance.

From a reliable source, 80% of these Street Beggars can not speak any Nigeria Language and assumed that they are from the Neigbouring countries using the begging habit to search for greener pastures; they are brought down to Ilorin on daily basis with Trailers from the North and South.

KWEPA as an Agency can no longer tolerate this act because of their incessant littering of the streets with faecal matters, Urine and waste on the major roads which can lead to the outbreak of diseases.

Though, very hard to believe, the Marketers around Geri-Alimi reliably informed the Newsmen that some Ritualists storm their locations for an exchange of money for ritual purpose; becarefulness is necessary in this regards.

KWEPA and Ministry of Social Welfare would soon find an everlasting solution to create a permanent place along Eiyenkorin.

Remember, these Street Beggars came along with their teenagers and little children without any sign of formal and informal education. What is the future of Kwara State with these set of people in our society?

Let's discuss!
