The Kwara State Government in her bid to further ensuring that possible outbreak of pandemic in the State is nib in the bud, has again through Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency called to the round table the relevant stakeholders to figure out lasting solution to forestall  the waste indiscrimination in major markets of Ilorin Metropolis which has become rampant.

The General Manager of the Agency, Alh. Sa'ad Ayuba Dan-Musa  while addressing the Executive members of Association of Traders Union and Artisans across major Markets within Ilorin Metropolis in the Mini Conference room of the Agency, said the interface became necessary to avert possible outbreak of pandemic in our environment.

Alh. Sa'ad, in the meantime, while enlisting lines of activities and model the Agency has designed to achieve its mission to tackle the ugly issue, used the same medium urging the meeting that maximum support and cooperation from all invited bodies as the stakeholders in the state is inevitable.

As part of the new model, it was unanimously agreed upon that every shop in all the market area in Ilorin will henceforth get a waste bin at its door step of which waste contractors will be coming around to pick them up fortnightly based on the subsequent arrangement between the company and the Excos of the market.

Alh Dan-Musa emphasized that there is no imposition of type and size as regards waste bin to get and that government will not sell to anybody but strict adherence to this latest development becomes compulsory as anybody found wanting of violating environmental ethics laid down by the government will definitely face the music.

_"... I am not imposing it (waste bin) on anybody, just ensure you get a proper waste bin as incriminating disposal of waste would no longer be taking lightly; Said, Dan-Musa._
