KWEPA Setout New Operative Models for year 2023.

- Urges State Waste Consultants to brace up for better service delivery.

The Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA), in preparation for year 2023 operations, has called on all state accredited waste consultants to brace up in their areas of engagement to achieve better result in the coming year. 

The General Manager of the Agency, Alh. Sa'ad Ayuba Dan-Musa made the call while hosting the Association of Private Waste Consultants in its office recently.

The general manager, who expressed displeasure over the shortfall and irregularities in the monthly remittance of the waste managers in the current year, thereby amounting to a huge deficit in the projected Internally Generated Revenue accrued to the state government.

He therefore appealed to the waste managers to take no further delay in offsetting their outstanding debts before the year ended, adding  that failure to do the needful would lead to non-renewal of engagement of service next year.

Speaking further, Ayuba Dan-Musa, highlighted some modalities which would guide the mode of engagement of waste consultants for another business year to include, Enumeration, Capacity and Capability, Maximum Demand Establishment, and Training of all waste consultant; saying that such would for sure enhance
 smooth operation and accelerated success.

Ayuba, explained that the model would promote enabling room for ease of transaction, accurate capturing of shops and household, credible placement of waste manager for the evacuation and disposal of their wastes, as well as providing adequate capacity building and proper handling of work.

In her contribution, the representative of Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), Mrs Adenike Taiwo, equally observed that the outstanding debts from the waste managers to be settled was a bit huge. 

She implored  them to pay up the debt to allow the re-engagement of  their services and to help the government in its internally generated revenue. 

Speaking on behalf of the association, Alh. Ganiyu Yusuf, assured the agency that members of the association would keep to their promise in offsetting their outstanding debt as he  urged the state government to provide enabling laws for their operations, give maximum support in terms of equipment, as well as create additional dumpsites for easy disposal of waste.
