80 members of People Democratic Party (PDP) and local Exco structure defected to APC in Moro Local Government.

Eighty members of People Democratic Party on Sunday, 12th March, 2023 defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state.

The eighty members are from Jebba and Jenkunnu in Ipaiye/Malete and Jebba Wards.

The politicians were received by the Distinguished Senator, Kwara North Senatorial District, Senator Suleiman Sadiq Umar at an event in HRA, Ilorin.

"Senator Sadiq Umar expressed his appreciation to them and promised that they will be carried along in all party activities and urged them to be loyal party members.”

One of the defecting politicians, Alhaji Kamaldeen Ibrahim, from Jebba in Moro Local Government Area and former  Party Chairman of People Democratic Party (PDP) who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, said they joined the APC after they realized that the party in the state has more prospects, the statement claimed.

While welcoming the new APC members, the Senatorial Chairman of the APC in the local government, Alhaji Suleiman Mohammed, one of the APC Party Elder in the local government, Hon. AbdulMumini Katibi, assured the newcomers that they would be accorded the rights and privileges enjoyed by old members, they were enjoyed to vote for Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq and all other House of Assembly Candidates come 18th March, 2023.

Present at the event  were Alhaji Abolarin Isiaka Alhaji Sa'ad Ayuba Dan-Musa, Alhaji Memudu Afolabi, Hon. John Bello, among others who facilitated the defection of the politicians to APC.
