KWEPA Proposes E-Certificate, Curbing Irregularities and Promoting Ease of Doing Business.

In its concerted effort to checkmate laxities in the issuance of certificates and creating a conducive working system that will promote ease of doing business, the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency, KWEPA, proposed for Electronic Certificate to all its Clients.

The general manager of the agency, Alh. Sa'ad Ayuba Dan-Musa, gave the indication during a Consultative Seminar and the Official Presentation of the Project themed "Problem Solving" held recently in its office, Ilorin.

Sa'ad Ayuba Dan-Musa, in his opening address, explained that the initiative, E-Certificate, was essentially relevant to ensure that all forms of irregularities encountering in the issuance of certificate to its clients would be nibbed in the bud.

He said, "this project is relevant as it will help solve the imposing issues of certificates forgery, infiltration, typographical/calligraphic errors amongst other issues which over times has been causing deface to the agency.

Speaking further, Ayuba Dan-Musa, stressed that the initiative would also assist the agency lift off its pinches, such as logistics, cost of production, time, amongst others; adding that it will harness easiest, faster way of doing business and uplift the agency's statue.

In his presentation of the Project, The CEO, Frost Graphix, Mr AbdulSamad Ayuba, harped on the importance of E-Certificate to serve as problem solving tool on some of the itches confronting the agency.

Mr AbdulSamad Ayuba, envisaged that the process will help cut down expenses on hard copy certificate, easy tracking and clear narration of transaction, adding that through the availabity of the agency's website maximum security QR code would be assured. 

He affirmed further that the certificates would be processed online and be delivered to the clients and other end users via e-mails.

Responding to the presentation, a representative of National Environmental Standard and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), Mr Ahmed Abdulrahman O. commended the introduction of E-Certificates as a welcome idea.

Ahmed AbdulRasaq okayed the initiative saying that  since it was purposely to regulate business organizations and other facilities in the state to repel against pollution, hence be given maximum support.

He however cautioned the agency to keep it on hold notting that funds and other fundamental facilities needed within the office may hinder its attainment as they were not on ground presently.

Similarly, Mr. Animasahun Bashir, an environmental consultant (Rockmine) noted that having E-Certification process would attract humongous capital to settle with, adding that the agency should gradually integrating in equipping the office in some preliminary facilities like, Internet and Communication Technology, E-mail, Website amongst others.

Bashir however, advised the agency to redesign its existing certificate with security feature, such that it would be safe from any intrusion or forgery.

 In his own part, the representative of Kwara State Head of Service, Mr, Okedare Adeyinka, extolled general manager on the initiative notting that such is a right step at the right time.

In her closing remark, the agency's Secretary, Mrs Idayat Folorunsho, appreciated all the participants for gracing the occasion, while envisaging that the project would receive final approval of the agency's Governing Board and its parent Ministry, Ministry of Environment.
