KWEPA Commiserates with Ipata Fire Victims

The General Manager of the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) , Alhaji Saad Ayuba Dan-Musa, has commiserated with the victims of the Ipata Market Fire Mishap that occured last night and lasted till the early hours of Friday.

The Fire started late last night as a result of the artificial dumpsite, situated just beside the cattle ranch where  goats were also kept, which was set on fire, which later escalated and burnt cattles, goats,  shops, and many valuables worth millions of naira.

Alhaji Dan-Musa urged them to follow the given directives regarding proper waste disposal and evacuation, while also noting that the Agency had been coming to Ipata Market regularly to sensitize them on proper waste management, adding that it was unfortunate that such a huge loss was being recorded due to negligence.

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of the KWEPA Governing Council, Pastor Zhiri Tsowa, rendered words of consolation to the marketers while also encouraging them to cooperate with the Agency's laid- down directives in handling the issue of waste management so as to prevent such occurrence from happening again.
