Market Sanitation: KWEPA partners with BOIISE The General Manager of the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA),  Alhaji Saad Ayuba Dan-Musa has revealed a new partnership with Boiise Trust Investment Limited in evacuating wastes from different market places in the State. This was revealed today during a meeting held by the Management of KWEPA and BOIISE with the association of market men and women of the Mandate Market in Ilorin. The meeting was premised on the fact that heaps of refuse were discovered at the market yesterday during the usual Weekly Thursday Market Sanitation exercise organized by KWEPA. Alh. Saad Dan-Musa, in his welcome address, thanked the representatives of Mandate market for coming and he urged them to join hands together with the Agency in making the market place neat.  In his speech, Boiise Operator, Mr. Oladipo Egbeyemi, appreciated the G.M. and he said they are ready to work in the market and make it clean while also noting that it will be good t

Roro Bins Misuse: KWEPA Launches Sensitization The General Manager of the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA), Alhaji Saad Ayuba Dan-Musa, together with his team, went on a Sensitization visit in Ilorin today, the 19th of May, 2021 to Challenge, Post Office, Maraba and Gada areas where roro bins have been strategically placed. The purpose of the visit was to sensitize the public on the appropriate usage of the roro bins and warn them of the repercussions that offenders will face.  Alhaji Dan-Musa warned the residents not to dump hot charcoal, corpses, dead animals or other unsightly things into the roro bins. He also reiterated that roro bins are for wastes  and people should not be putting fire in it. Mobile court to cheack indiscremate dumping of refuse

The General Manager of the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA), Alhaji Saad Ayuba Dan-Musa, has said that mobile courts will soon be established for the prosecution of offenders who drop all sorts of wastes in inappropriate places, especially road medians in Ilorin, the state capital. Alhaji Dan-Musa explained that the proposed mobile courts was part of the plans to finding a lasting solution to the rate at which offenders dump wastes indiscriminately in strategic points in Ilorin metropolis. The General Manager disclosed this at the town Hall meeting organized by the members of Integrity Forum group, Ilorin East Local Government where he  delivered a lecture on the "Proliferation of Wastes in our Community and the way forward" yesterday,  Saturday 15th May, 2021 at  Government Secondary School Hall, Ilorin. He attributed what he called “sudden increase  in wastes” in the community to the influx of people into the state, adding that there is only one dumpsite
