GM KWEPA Congratulates Environment Commissioner on Birth Anniversary January 30, 2022 The General Manager, Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency, Alhaji Sa'ad Ayuba Dan-Musa, has congratulated the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh, on the occasion of her birth anniversary, describing her as a woman who gives her all to whatever duty committed to her hands.   Alhaji Sa'ad Ayuba Dan-Musa, in a statement issued to felicitate with the Commissioner, commended her administrative prowess and described her passion for work and timely accomplishments of tasks as top-notch and praise worthy. Beware of  Unregistered Fumigators Using Hazardous Chemicals, KWEPA Warns School Owners The Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA), has called on the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools at Zonal level to beware of fake Fumigators who go around making use of hazardous chemical for fumigation. The General Manager of the Agency, Alhaji Sa'ad Ayuba Dan-Musa, enlightened that this deadly chemicals used by the fake fumigators poses a lot of dangers to the health of all the occupants of the school. Alhaji Sa'ad Ayuba Dan-Musa, further disclosed that, a lot of abnormalities are being reported to be going on regarding fumigation at the Local government level, as some unauthentic fumigation certificates have been retrieved from some schools across the local government areas. *FIGHT AGAINST OPEN DEFECATION: KWEPA BEGINS HOUSE TO HOUSE INSPECTION*  The Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA), has launched a house to house inspection in a bid to curb open defecation, which is one of the major factors responsible for the spread of diseases. The inspection commenced at Sango axis in Ilorin where  Environmental Health Officers and some members of staff of the Agency, thoroughly inspected houses to ascertain the provision of toilet facilities in the buildings. In the course of inspection, about Twenty (20) houses in the area covered were issued with abatement notices for lack of toilet facilities while those with soak away system that have not been evacuated; and another one referred to as a source of water contaminant also received abatement notices. Rtd AVM heads kwara's enforcement committee on environment Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has appointed a five-person enforcement committee to sanitise the indiscriminate disposal of waste within the Ilorin metropolis. The committee, chaired by retired Air Vice Marshal Ishaq Balogun, will work with existing structures in the Ministry of Environment and some adhoc bodies to ensure that the state capital is clean in a bid to guarantee public health, according to a statement by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Rafiu Ajakaye. Other members of the five-person committee are: retired Col Kayode Umar;  Navy Captain Ayodele Olowolagba; General Manager of Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA)Alh. Kwara state government would not be the last to evacuate them completely from the major roads like Geri-Alimi Underpass and some notable places in the state Capital which is continuously causing Environmental Nuisance. From a reliable source, 80% of these Street Beggars can not speak any Nigeria Language and assumed that they are from the Neigbouring countries using the begging habit to search for greener pastures; they are brought down to Ilorin on daily basis with Trailers from the North and South.
